Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Turn and face the strange

On occasion, I like to think of myself in very scientific terms. For example,  there are days I don't see myself as a person—more like some organism that's shape-shifting and adapting through its natural life cycle where everything that happens to it is a part of the evolutionary process. Wow, this got super sci-fi super fast (Note: I've been watching Stranger Things.)

We all know that change is an inevitable part of life, but whenever it comes a knockin' at my door I still treat it like an unexpected (and unwelcome) houseguest. For me, a part of the process of evolving is vehemently rejecting it for the first moments until I tire myself out and simply accept it. The thing is, I'm tired of being tired!

"I want to be like Nancy in Stranger Things when she discovers that super gross tree that is also the gateway to the Upside Down and goes in with no hesitance."

I want to run toward change and see the good before I see the bad. I don't want the unknown to garner an immediate, "umm, hell no," reaction. I want to be like Nancy in Stranger Things when she discovers that super gross tree that is also the gateway to the Upside Down and goes in with no hesitance. Personally, I believe she was crazy as hell for that, but you know what I mean.

For me, the first step to that kind of brave embracing of change was to change my hair, naturally. This is the first time in my life I've had braids, and after six-hours of sitting and two women working on my scalp, I am now the person who whips her hair around for absolutely no reason. Next up, I'm working on a super amazing and somewhat secret project I LITERALLY CAN NOT WAIT to tell you all about, but suffice it to say, there's gonna be some major ch-ch-ch-changes going on.
