The Shortest NYFW Recap Ever

This is very anti-climatic, you guys

This past week kicked off New York Fashion Week, but I don't have to tell you that, because if you have an Instagram account, you are well aware. This was my first year being even somewhat close to the whole magical beast and while it was just what my 17-year-old self dreamed it would be, my current 26-year-old self is tired.

"This world is tricky, and while  shiny new fashions can certainly help you feel better, there's no substitute for having inspirational women around you to help push you along."

And because the old gal is tired, this will be very, very brief. Ready? Here we go. Lots of people. So many people. Crowds of people. So many people in really fun clothes. Fun looking people in fun looking clothes. Also, lots of clothes (though I did love seeing accessories much more). A lot of alcohol. I'm not drinking right now, so though shows with an open bar were a plus for many, they meant absolutely nothing to me.

I'll always love style and fashion because it allows us to express ourselves. It's just wonderful to look at and by inspired by. That said, I really did tire myself out this weekend, and I didn't even go to as many events as some of my other friends (I don't know how y'all did it). The one thing that really fueled me through all of it were the great girls I met, a lot of them internet girlfriends I finally got to meet IRL. For all the sequins and sparkle I saw this weekend, the personalities of these girls were what really dazzled. Corny, I know, but I just love girls! And  I love girls supporting girls! This world is tricky, and while shiny new fashions can certainly help you feel better, there's no substitute for having inspirational women around you to help push you along.
