How to update your skincare with 3 easy products—all under $15!

In my eagerness, I went scouring for the best balancing skincare lines, but I often found products that were way out of my price range. $45 for a moisturizer? Um...Who has that kind of money? Not this millennial copywriter living in Brooklyn, that's for sure. I wanted effective skincare that was still affordable. The best skincare under $15 was more within my budget—and when I tell you how thrilled I was to find it, I mean capital "T" THRILLED.

Tree Hut is a brand known for using natural ingredients, like organic shea butter, botanical extracts and globally sourced ingredients. If that wasn't enough for me be all over this brand, they've just released new skincare with the same luxury ingredients and affordability as their body care. I was able to try three products to create a new spring skincare regimen: the Purifying Cleansing Gel, the Protecting Daily Moisturizer and the Exfoliating Mud Mask.
I have oily skin, that, post-winter dryout, goes haywire. I look for cleansers get the job done without causing any further irritation. This rosewater infused formula is a rich gel that foams up to gently wash away makeup and oil. My skin felt soft and clean without feeling like I'd stripped it, which is an issue I have with my usual dermatologist approved oily-skin acne wash.
Anytime I find a double-duty product, I jump for joy. This moisturizer is light and hydrating thanks to rosehip, carrot seed and sea buckthorn oils, but what's more is that it offers UVA/UVB protection with SPF 30. I used this moisturizer before my foundation and trust me, a little goes a long way.

I'm a sucker for a good clay mask! I use it as a spot treatments for areas that need extra help or all over when I feel like having an at-home spa day. Hands down, this is one of my favorite formulas. Not only does it smell amazing (all of these products do, TBH), it includes some of my go-to ingredients when I look at masks. There's bentonite clay for detoxification, charcoal powder for drawing impurities and pumice for exfoliation. I've used this a few times and after each use my skin looks like it's glowing.
I'm happy winter is over for many reasons—hello, I can wear normal clothing again—but a main one is that my skin can go back to normal. There's a chance that it may be even better than normal. Here's to hoping!
